With my ethnic background is it any wonder that I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food?
Today, we dined at le Chalet for lunch. Fondue and Crepes. I've only ever been there one other time. Both times for crepes.
Now, I tell you the dessert crepes are totally divine. I have not been disappointed with them but something can be said about meals with crepes. Had a crepe breakfast at Village Inn once (or was that IHOP?) Either way, it fell into the sweet is for dessert category. Just a personal preference, mind you. I veer away from Sweet & Sour, BBQ, and teriyaki dishes for that reason. And, I never had a liking to Chef Boyardee, either.
Well, just when I was resigning to think that I will never like any entrees there behold.... for #Project365 - The Hanging Man.

Such an elaborate display. Just the chef wheeling out the cart was cause for a gander. The smell of gently seasoned and seared meat trailed behind then we watched the chef pour what I assumed was cooking cherry or a port wine. She lit it up in flames and proceeded to pour this flaming liquid down over the meat. Several times.

Flambé! What a show. Yes, I'm trying that next time.
Oh and I'm getting a dessert crepe too.

#Project365 commences and I am watching this as soon as I can sit up for an extended period of time. Hopefully tomorrow! If I'm able to go to work *bleh* I SUPPOSE I'm healthy enough to watch this, right? I never saw #Avatar in 3D at the theater but I LOVE the Blu-Ray version of it - I am hoping this will be even more KICK ARSE!
I'll get the popcorn ready but you'll have to bring your own 3D glasses.
Okay, this shouldn't really be a legitimate picture for #Project365 but, hey, I was sick.
I spent most of the day trying to die. And, at one point, I'm pretty sure I did. My "day off" and I get to enjoy it like this. Playing Dismount. Whee. If you've never heard of it, I suggest you check your App Store for it. Highly addicting, entirely immoral.
Awesomely, I scored 8,598,827 points! Not so awesomely was the fact that I scored that high due to a glitch. My dummy was stuck halfway in and out of the bumper card and drug around racking up points until the time ran out. So no, this was not due to my strategic smarts and careful manuevering. Just. Dummy. Luck.
Enjoy:
#Project365. I got this cool project from a friend of mine who did it on FB. This will be her third year doing it - if she's doing it this year. The goal is to take a picture every day and post it. I figure this will be a good opportunity to make use of my "lifetime" membership here at Xanga. So here we go:

Hanging out at #HomeDepot with the hubby and brat. This is me trying to stay entertained while he scrutinizes and ponders the wonder that is... whatever it is.
*shrug*
He is fixing up the sprinkler system in the back yard and building a shelf in the garage. This would be the first of 3 trips today. I didn't partake in the other two because I am, unfortunately, sick. (Yes, I was sick on New Years Eve as well. What a way to start the new year, eh?)
I was just thinking... (I know that it's dangerous sometimes)
But.... if *I* were to have a child with someone that I was no longer with, would it make sense for *ME* to be-friend the father on a social network if the main goal was for the father and our child to keep in touch? I would think it would be the best interest for the father to see what's going on in his *child's* life, not *my* drama, whining, bitching, pissing and moaning or ramblings.
Just saying...
Hrmmmmm. If Xanga wants to keep up with the Jones' they need to at least go mobile. An app would be nice.
Try to harness your volatile energies at this time. You could receive upsetting news or face conflict pertaining to your finances, health, real estate, travel, business, or legal matters; it will be critical for you not to lash out simply for the sake of releasing your emotions. You may need to rely on your wits, your sharp perception, and your ability to negotiate or mediate if you want to vindicate, defend, protect, or avenge your position. This could be a trial or test of your integrity, so don't reveal yourself as an "angry young woman." Diplomacy may be what is called for in this situation, and even if you are accustomed to handling your business, or thumbing your nose at the status quo, you may need to bite your tongue and call upon some professional assistance. Remember to keep the sarcasm to a minimum, for this can't help to clear the air. You may want to consider the purpose of any interest you have in finance, business, or legal matters.
You know what? Xanga is like re-visiting a bar or dance club that I used to frequent.
I had fun and good memories of the experiences I had (shared) and people I met here. I came back recalling how cool it was and how I felt I knew the place. It's still somewhat cool - to a whole new crowd. I still know the place and there are still a few "regulars" hanging out that I see but the place is different to me now.
I sit back and observe the patrons and I think, wow, these kids are hip and trendy. Look at how popular they are. Look at how invincible and steadfast they are in their beliefs. Look at how they all think they can save the world. Hahaha, look at young and naive they are. And look at me... once... once upon a time, I was like that. LOL Yup, both at a bar and on Xanga.
It's funny re-reading my old posts. Yeah, I cringe while reading a good portion of them - they are the rantings and ravings of a girl and her opinions of life. The poor puncuation and grammar even! :p But those were my thoughts as filtered (or not filtered) from my brain to the keyboard. It's interesting how passionate I seemed. Or maybe it was because I didn't care what people thought of my views... or just naive.
Since Facebook, there has been a wealth of concern over privacy. Xanga provided a pretty good deal of anonymity. I noticed the last time posted an entry here, there was a feature to link it to FB. I was like, well hey now, that's cool! But then, I thought, there's a reason why I don't use the Notes section in FB to blog: Privacy. Since FB, I've been taking a second look at what I post and say. I have some thoughts on the Immigration Law and the Oil Spill but is it better to keep the peace - and keep my mouth shut? Or should I have the same notion that I once had that voicing my opinion would actually make a change in the world? Wow. I sound jaded. Sad, but true. Freedom of speech? Not really. Not if you have a brain. "What you say or do can be used against you..." I've been rather quiet on FB.
Maybe it's because I'm growing up? Haha, at my age you would think I should be already... and while having a few too much drinks and getting up on that bar to dance sounds like something fun to do again, I probably won't.
